Meet Kyle Hill

Chief Kyle Hill is currently serving as President of the Mississippi Fire Chiefs Association.  He got his start in the fire service at the young age of 15 following his father around the Taylorsville Volunteer Fire Department.  In 1989 he became a member of the Northeast Lamar Fire Rescue in Lamar County.  In 1995, after the untimely line of duty death of the Fire Chief, Kyle was promoted to Assistant Chief.  Then in 2001, Kyle was promoted to volunteer Fire Chief at Northeast Lamar Fire Rescue, a position he has held since that time.  Working in education at Pearl River Community College for 30 years, Chief Hill retired from PRCC in 2018.  In 2020, Lamar County hired Chief Hill to serve as the Lamar County Fire Coordinator.  During his brief tenure, fire services in Lamar County have seen a significant increase in budget, debt reduction of 40%, and the construction of $1 million training and storage center.  Chief Hill had previously served on the Executive Board for MSFCA as a regional Vice President.
