One primary goal of the Mississippi Fire Chief’s Association is to promote and support the advancement of the fire service in order to improve and enhance the quality of life of our citizens. As recipients of the public trust, members should at all times represent those ethical principles consistent with professional conduct.

It is the policy of the Mississippi Fire Chief’s Association to encourage the use of automatic fire sprinklers in all residential structures, especially those of a multifamily nature, hotels, motels, condominiums, dormitories and fraternity and sorority houses.
The Association encourages its members to become educated on the merits of automatic sprinklers and have available to the general public, when asked, information to assist persons in making sound decisions concerning the installation of fire sprinklers.
Health

Wellness
Since the safety and well being of every firefighter depends on individuals physical and medical wellness and the ability of a fire fighter and his/her department to respond in a timely manner to an emergency depends to a great extent on the physical capabilities of the members:
It is the policy of the Mississippi Fire Chief’s Association to encourage the health and wellness of all its members as well all members of the Mississippi Fire Service.
We encourage all departments to use regular medical examinations on all members regardless of division or department assignment.
We encourage all departments to promote physical fitness with regular exercise activity as well as regular supervised physical fitness/agility monitoring.
